Let’s talk Games: Roadmap of what to finish

Not so long ago, I mentioned that games should simply be enjoyed. Whether you finish them or not. Often, I used to feel immense pressure to roll the credits in a game, to a point where it started to feel like a task already. And that’s just not right. Right? I mean, I paid to get hold of the game, to entertain myself. I don’t want it to feel like a chore.

At any rate, I’ve given it some thought as of late and I can safely say that I’m content with the number of credits I managed to roll recently. From South Park’s Stick of Truth to Pokemon Shield, and so on. I had great fun.

Yet with the extra time I have at hand and minimal work load (thanks, Covid-19), I decided to step it up a notch and finish some of the titles that I have here. Meaning to say, play them more consistently until completion.

Evergreen games are the bane to my endeavor

Games like DotA 2, Mobile Legends and even Fifa are a pain in the ass. I just love playing them and often find myself in the insidious ‘one more game’ loop. This is something that I need to be consciously aware and grow out of. Not saying that I am not having ton of fun that way, but I myself can say that there’s little meaning to it. I want to finish games so that I can eventually, perhaps, sell them on.

There are so many other Evergreen games that I am picking up every now and then that’s adding to the friction and delay in finishing other titles. This includes but is not limited to Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Super Smash, Towerfall 25 with .

So here’s my little list that I have prepared at which order I’ll go about the games I have at my disposal:

  • Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey
  • Child of Light (I’m actually close to finishing this!)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening
  • Spiderman
  • Death Stranding

I know, I know. It’s quite a heavy list. But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There are many more games that I have available but these should serve as a good start. Currently, I’m roaming through ancient Greece in AC Odyssey. I don’t really feel the hype for this game anymore, at least not just yet. I am not really digging the story story. I’m at the point where I was when I started out playing it on my trusty ‘ol laptop. Perhaps as the plot unfolds further, I will be more accepting of pursuing the story. Damn, though. There’s just soo much to do at all times. So, wish me luck in finishing that one timely enough for my other games.

Switch Games join in the fun

I’ve listed two Switch games as well, as I can make use of that devices from almost anywhere I want. So finishing Child of Light should be done in a timely manner soon, along with my newly acquired Link’s Awakening.

More Switch games awaiting completion include Hollow Knight, Star Fox, Worms MD Campaign, South Park: Fractured But Whole and a number more.

Let’s see how the next few days go! 🙂
